Scruff and Maudlin

Description

Two favourite weasels of mine from Garry Kilworth's Welkin Weasels series. I should draw more stuff about this lot, they're very cute books. These two little fellows are the sidekicks of the hero the Right Honourable Montegu Sylver. Scruff is the tall one, Maudlin's the short one. These two are loyal friends, and together they have faced down the demon of a possessed ocarina, escaped from the dreaded Manless Horsehead (the ghost of a severed horse head which floats around eating people - Mr Kilworth has a bizarre sense of humour), narrowly avoided death when they crashed a hot air balloon into a clocktower, and so on. Plus they're cockney weasels, so they have the super power of producing squeals of glee from me.

I would make implications about the nature of their relationship, but A) there are about three people on the entire Internet who've heard of them, so maybe it's a bit early for slashfic, B) I think one of those people knows Mr Kilworth personally and I don't want to get into legal trouble which could keep me out of a good college, C) it would be too easy ;P With apologies if that person does see this. Please don't tell Mr K I said that, I say things like that about characters in everything.

I really don't like how Maudlin's face turned out, but I'm not sure what I've done wrong with it. Awkward angle, I think.

Characters (c) Garry Kilworth. Character designs taken from the official chapter-heading illustrations of the books, but I don't know who they were by and I'm too lazy to look.

Crap, I should've read the copy I found in a London bookstore when I visited like two years ago. *scours internet for used copies* Crud, I hope the NYC libraries have a copy or two. They didn't have Deptford Mice, which...sucks. Very much.

All the really famous writers come from England. You are lucky.
